Hot iron burn on a client's ear last Thursday

I was doing a blowout on a regular client at my chair in Salon Lofts when the barrel of my 1 inch ceramic flat iron accidentally grazed her earlobe. She yelped and a tiny red mark showed up instantly, I felt TERRIBLE. How do you guys handle a situation like this without losing the client's trust?

LOL at the aloe vera tip like we're all just running a spa clinic out here. Honestly though, keep a tube of hydrocortisone cream instead - that stuff works way faster on burns than aloe and makes you look like a total pro when you whip it out. I'd probably joke with the client like "well now you match that burnt toast you made this morning" to break the tension, then comp something small like a blow dry next time. Honestly half the time they're just as scared we're gonna freak out as we are, so just own it and move on.

I saw a tip from an old stylist on a Facebook group who said she keeps a tube of aloe vera gel in her station drawer exactly for this. She swears it helps calm the skin fast and shows the client you're already on damage control before you even talk about next steps. Maybe grab some and offer a tiny dab on the spot next time, then comp their next service to rebuild trust.
