Hit 50 foil highlights in 45 minutes for the first time yesterday
I was trying to beat my personal record and finally cracked it after 3 months of really focusing on my sectioning technique. Has anyone else tracked their timing like that and found a weird number that surprised you?

Started tracking my times a few years ago and totally got obsessed with it. Found out I can do a full foil set in 42 minutes flat if the client has super fine hair, but throw in someone with thick coarse hair and it jumps to an hour ten. My weirdest number was 28 highlights in 33 minutes which made no sense because that's way slower than my average. Got so into the numbers I started timing everything from how fast I mix lightener to how long I let it process based on the specific line. What kind of sectioning move made the biggest difference for you?

Oh man, I feel this so hard! Once I started timing my foils it completely took over my brain too. I had this one client with baby fine hair who took me 38 minutes for a full head and I was so proud, then the next day a thick dark hair girl came in and boom, an hour fifteen. It's wild how much texture changes everything. My biggest sectioning breakthrough was switching to those thin pintail subsections instead of chunky ones, it actually sped me up because I wasn't fighting to separate the hair later. Now I'm the weirdo timing how long it takes me to mix each bowl depending on the formula too.
