Found the old state board manual from 1987 in my aunt's closet
She kept everything from her salon days. I flipped through it and could not believe the sanitation rules they had back then. No gloves for color, sharing brushes between clients after a quick wipe, and they only had to disinfect implements once a day. Compared to what we do now with EPA registered stuff and single use items, it's a whole different world. She said they also did perms with no test strand on a 20 minute timer. Crazy how much safety changed in 40 years. Anyone else find old training materials that made you laugh or cringe?

The no test strand on perms makes me cringe, I've seen that go bad firsthand.
