Chose between staying at my salon booth or renting a chair at a new place in Austin
I was at a commission booth for 3 years and got offered a chair rental for $350 a week in a busier part of Austin, so I took the risk 5 months ago. It was slow for the first 8 weeks, but now I keep about 60% of what I bring in instead of 40%, and I finally have regulars who rebook. Anybody else jump from commission to booth rent, and did it take you a while to build back up too?
Took me about 4 months to get steady after I went from commission to renting. Weird thing was my old clients didn't follow me at first, then like 6 of them showed up in one week once they heard where I went. Hang in there, that 60% cut makes the slow start worth it.
