A client's throwaway comment made me question my whole approach

Last Friday this older lady getting her roots done said my foils looked 'too perfect, like I was hiding something,' and it got me thinking about whether we've all gotten too obsessed with flawless lines instead of working with each person's natural texture. Anyone else feel like the Instagram-perfect look is actually doing clients a disservice in the long run?
