That one week in July when the concrete truck showed up 3 hours late

We had a crew of 12 waiting on a 50-yard pour for a slab in Austin, and the dispatcher kept saying '15 more minutes' for three straight hours. The mix ended up too hot to work with and we had to reject the whole load, cost us a full day and $800 in standby labor. Any of y'all had a dispatcher lie to you like that and just not say anything?

Had a dispatcher in San Antonio pull the same 15 minute lie for 4 hours once. I finally drove to the plant and saw the truck still sitting in the yard. Now I make them text me a photo of the truck tag number when they leave the plant. Works every time. That heat will wreck a load fast, you got to have a hard cutoff time written into their contract for next time.

Dispatchers will tell you the sky is green if it keeps you on the hook. Bet they knew that load was toast an hour in.
