Subcontractor schedule trick using daily photos saved my ass on a Reno job
Had a 14 unit apartment reno in Cleveland last month where the drywall crew kept claiming they showed up but the work wasn't matching their timecards. Started taking a quick photo of the unit number and the clock on my phone every morning and night when I walked through. After 3 days I had proof they were only putting in about 4 hours on site instead of the 8 they billed. Confronted the foreman with the timestamps and he folded fast, adjusted the invoice by $1,800. Anyone else use photo logs to keep subs honest on smaller jobs?

Hell yeah, photo logs are the only way to go on any job bigger than a bathroom. I do the same thing but also snap the mailbox or street sign so there's no arguing about which unit it is. Saved me over a grand on a siding crew that was doing the same exact thing, billing for full days but packing up by lunch.
