Realized last week why my subfloor was squeaking in the same spot for months

I had this one spot near the kitchen island that would squeak every time you stepped on it (drove me nuts for like 3 months). Last week I finally pulled up the carpet and found the joist had a big knot that I missed when I glued the subfloor down three years ago. Anybody else find hidden construction mistakes from their own early work that make you cringe when you think back?

Three years ago I nailed a nail plate right over a wire and didn't think twice about it... found it when I was replacing baseboards last month and felt sick to my stomach. That kind of thing stays with you way longer than the squeak ever did.

You ever try shoving some construction adhesive in the crack and putting a heavy weight on it for a day? That fixed a squeak in my hallway that I thought was gonna need a whole new subfloor. @harper_wells that nail plate thing is rough, I found a screw I put through a pipe once. Makes you second-guess everything you did before.
