My foreman in Tucson told me daily logs are a waste of time, and I almost believed him
He said he had run 14 jobs without them and never had a claim denied. But after a $9,000 back charge hit us on a Phoenix retail build, I pulled the daily log for the day the inspector walked through. I had written down the weather, the crew count, and that the GC told us to keep going on the exterior paint. That one paragraph got the back charge cut to $1,200. Now I want to know if anyone else has used a simple daily log to fight a back charge, and what did you write down that made the difference?
