My electrician told me he turns down jobs when the GC's schedule is already packed, and I can't stop thinking about it
I was talking to my electrician Mike last Tuesday while he was wiring up a job in Fairview, and he said he walked away from two remodel projects last month because the GC had the schedule so tight that the rough-in was set for day 2 of demo. He said he's been burned too many times showing up to a house where the walls aren't even open yet, so now he just asks for the schedule upfront and declines if it's unrealistic. How do you all handle subs who won't commit to a timeline you know is compressed?
Does he ever ask the GC why the schedule is so tight or is that just not worth the energy? Like is it usually the homeowner pushing or the GC just stacking too many jobs? Curious if Mike has ever had a GC actually adjust the timeline after he pushed back.
