Watched a guy fix a bad slab with just a bull float and it changed my process
I used to think power trowels were the only way to get a decent finish, especially on bigger pours. Last month in Tucson I saw a crew take a slab that was already starting to crust over and bring it back with nothing but a bull float and some patience. The guy worked it slow, kept the moisture on top, and the surface came out way flatter than anything I've done with a machine. I've been skipping the hand float step for years on smaller jobs, not anymore. Anyone else gone back to simpler tools after watching a pro work?
