Tried wet cure vs curing compound on a driveway in Nashville

I always used curing compound because it was faster, but after a job last month where the homeowner insisted on wet cure with burlap, I have to admit the surface came out way harder and with fewer hairline cracks. Has anyone else switched methods after seeing the results side by side?

4 years ago I would have laughed at the idea of wet curing a driveway in Nashville heat. Then I did a 3 car pour off Nolensville Road and we wet cured it with straw because the owner was old school. The difference in surface hardness was night and day. That job still looks tight while a compound cured one I did the same week has a few tiny web cracks near the expansion joints. Makes me wonder if I've been cutting corners just to save time. You get what you put into it I guess.

Idk, man. I mean, the old school stuff has its place, but modern cure and seal compounds have come a long way in the last few years. Maybe it's just me, but I've had good luck with them on hot days and they save a ton of hassle.
