Tried tiger paw finishing on a big slab last week, kinda backfired

I got talked into trying the tiger paw pattern on a 40x60 garage floor I did last Thursday. Thought it would look real clean with the swirl effect, but my timing was off and the pattern barely showed in some spots. Killed 2 extra hours trying to redo sections with a hand float. Has anyone else had trouble getting those deep grooved patterns to pop without rushing the set time?

Yeah that tiger paw pattern is tricky with timing lol. It's like when you try to time pancakes flipping - you wait too long or not long enough and it's a mess. I've noticed a lot of stuff in life is just about that sweet spot, rush it and you screw it up, wait too long and the moment passes.

Rush it and you screw it up, wait too long and the moment passes." That's basically the story of my entire life right there, I'm not sure how to feel about that level of accuracy. I've definitely burned a lot of pancakes and missed a lot of windows I probably shouldn't have.
