Tried a power trowel on a slab last week and went back to hand finishing
I had a 30x40 garage floor to do and borrowed a power trowel from a buddy, thinking it would save time. After two passes the surface looked like a mess with swirl marks and uneven spots, so I gave up and finished the rest by hand like always. Anyone else find power trowels more trouble than they're worth on smaller residential jobs?

Oh man, been there. Borrowed one from my cousin for a 2 car garage and spent more time fighting it than I would've just grabbing a hand float. Swirl city, had to grind it all down after it set.

Swirl city" lol that's rough. Did you figure out what you were doing wrong with the power trowel or was it just the setup?
