That perfect pour last Tuesday still has me smiling

Had a 30 yard driveway job in Redmond where everything just clicked. The mix was spot on, the weather was 72 degrees with no wind, and my crew finished the bull float pass in under 10 minutes. Got the broom finish even and no birdbaths anywhere. Even the homeowner came out and said 'this is the best looking concrete I've ever had.' Anybody else have one of those days where the concrete gods just smile on you?

My buddy Dave had a moment like this last spring on a 50 yard slab in Issaquah. @leog68 nailed it about that sweet spot, Dave said the concrete laid down like butter and his finishers didn't even break a sweat. The homeowner brought out lemonade and they were done by noon with time to spare, which NEVER happens for him usually.

72 degrees and no wind... that's the sweet spot for sure. I've noticed how that kind of perfect alignment in concrete work is like when you're driving and hit every green light. Everything just flows... no fighting the sun crusting up the edges, no wind blowing the surface dry too fast. It's like the universe finally decides to let you win one. Usually it's either too hot, too cold, or the truck shows up late and you're racing the clock. But those rare days where all the stars line up? Makes you remember why you got into this work in the first place.
