Showerthought: Hit 10,000 square feet of flatwork in a single week last month
I looked down at my boots at the end of Friday and realized I'd poured and finished more concrete in five days than my old crew boss used to do in three weeks back in the 90s, and I wonder how many guys here have seen their weekly numbers climb that fast too?

My old crew boss had a rule about never working past 2pm on Fridays and now I see why, man's whole schedule would've fallen apart with these kind of numbers.

Wait, was that a hard 2pm cutoff no matter what, or just a "try to wrap things up" kind of rule? Because I'm picturing a crew boss who'd literally drop his tools and walk away mid-sentence if the clock hit 2, which sounds amazing but also kind of chaotic. Did he have a system for that, like making sure everyone had their Saturday tasks squared away by Thursday? Or was it just a "friday is for emergency stuff only" approach, and everything else could wait until Monday?
