Saw a big difference after switching from hand float to power trowel on a 30 yard slab
I did a warehouse slab last week, about 30 yards, and used a power trowel for the first time. The finish came out way flatter and smoother compared to my hand float jobs. Has anyone else noticed less cracking with power trowels on bigger pours?

Used to be skeptical of power trowels but that changed my mind.

and honestly, once you get used to the feel of them they save so much time on big pours. the trick is to keep the machine moving at a steady pace and not let it sit in one spot too long or you'll dig a hole. i remember my first time using one felt like wrestling with a wild animal but after a few passes it clicked. just make sure you have the right blade pitch for the concrete curing stage, float blades first then finish blades later. and for the love of god wear earplugs, those things roar like a jet engine after a few hours.
