PSA: Don't test your power trowel blades on a wet slab in flip flops
Last Tuesday over in Wilmington, I got a brand new set of blades for my 36 inch trowel and figured I'd give em a quick spin on a small garage pour. Temp was fine, mix was right, but I was lazy and wore sandals because it was hot. Ran the machine for about 40 seconds, hit a soft spot, the trowel kicked sideways and slung a fat glob of wet concrete straight up my leg. That stuff burns like nothing else. Had to peel it off with a scraper. Learned two things: always wear boots, and always do a test pass on a dry surface first. Anyone else had a close call with equipment gear you couldn't wait to try?
