Pouring in 90 degree heat actually hurts less than I expected

I read a study out of Phoenix that tracked 200 pours over three summers and the crack rate at 90 plus degrees was barely higher than at 75. Everyone in my crew swears by early morning pours, but the numbers say the worry is overblown if you keep the mix wet and cover it right. We did a 140 yard slab last July in Tucson and had zero cracks, all because we used a fogger and a slightly higher slump. Has anyone else got real data from their own jobs that goes against the old-timer rules?
