My bull float handle snapped clean off on a big pour in Tacoma last Thursday

It was a 40 yard slab for a garage floor and the weld just gave out halfway through. I had to finish the whole thing with a magnesium hand float, my arms are still sore. Anyone got a good brand for a REPLACEMENT that can take a beating?

Had the same thing happen on a warehouse job last year. I switched to a Marshalltown bull float with the steel-reinforced handle and it's been solid. The weld points are way beefier, and it hasn't let me down since. My old one was a cheaper brand that just couldn't hold up.

My crew burned through three cheap floats on a single parking garage pour in 2022. The welds just snapped clean off every time. I mean, we finally got a Marshalltown with that steel sleeve over the joint and it's a total game changer. That thing has seen probably 200,000 square feet of concrete and the handle is still perfectly straight. You're right, the beefier construction makes all the difference.
