My buddy's advice about wet curing almost cost me a patio job
I had a friend who has been doing concrete for 15 years tell me I didn't need to wet cure a small 4x6 patio slab I poured last spring. He said it was just extra work and the concrete would be fine if I covered it with plastic. I listened to him because he has done way more jobs than me. Well, that slab started cracking within two weeks. Hairline cracks everywhere, and the surface was dusty and weak. I had to rip it out and redo it last month, costing me an extra $200 in materials and a full Saturday. Wet curing every slab now, no exceptions. Anyone else get bad advice from someone who should know better?

Fifteen years in the game and he still gave you bad advice on something that basic. I've been doing this work for almost twenty years now and I still wet cure every single slab no matter how small. It's frustrating when you trust someone's experience and it costs you time and money like that.
