Found out the hard way why 1 inch of rain cancels a pour and I had to eat $800
Booked a 40 yard driveway pour out in Naperville last month and the morning of, the sky looked fine so I let the crew start. Then I pulled up the weather app and saw a 60 percent chance of rain in the afternoon, which I figured was no big deal since we had a 4 hour window. The foreman told me flat out that 1 inch of rain after the initial set will wreck the surface finish and possibly the whole slab's strength, and I had never actually looked up why. We ended up covering it and eating $800 in lost time and a rented pump, and now my stomach drops every time the radar shows green. How do you all decide when to pull the plug, is there a real cutoff or do you just gamble on the radar?
