Dust control then and now from a recent job

I was grinding a concrete floor the other day with a proper dust collector. It brought back memories of just using a wet rag over my face back in the day. The difference is night and day, but sometimes I miss the simplicity. What do you all think about all the new rules?

Honestly, the old way felt more like real work.

Saw a study last year that said coal miners in the 1950s had a life expectancy nearly ten years shorter than average. That "real work" feeling came with a real cost. My grandpa still talks about the black dust in his handkerchief after a shift. The new ways might feel different, but different doesn't mean easier. It just means we finally figured out some jobs shouldn't kill you.

I used to totally get that "real work" feeling too. Then I watched my dad cough for years after his job. Clean lungs beat simple tools every time for me now.
