Customer told my broom finish looked like a mess, so I finally tried a magnesium float

I was doing a driveway in Akron last month and this homeowner kept pointing out all these little lines I left behind. He said it looked like I brushed it with a rake instead of a broom. Has anyone else had a customer's feedback actually make you step back and change your whole finishing process?

Started out doing the same job in Cleveland back in '03 and a neighbor told me my broom finish looked like a cat walked across it. That comment stuck with me so bad I switched to a float the next week and never looked back.

That neighbor had no filter but honestly did you a favor. Had a similar wake-up call back in '06 when my foreman told me my joints looked like I was trying to spell my name in the concrete. Switched to a magnesium float the next day and never looked back. Funny how one rude comment can set you straight for the rest of your career.
