Bought a cheap bull float from a big box store and regretted it for 6 months

I picked up one of those $40 bull floats from Home Depot last spring thinking I was saving cash. Man, that thing warped after the first real pour on a 30-yard driveway job in June. The handle kept coming loose and the blade left swirl marks I had to grind out later. Spent an extra $120 on a magnesium float from a proper supply house after that. My finish quality went way up and I don't have to fight the tool anymore. Anyone else learn this lesson the hard way or was I just being too cheap?

Nah, you probably just got unlucky, plenty of guys use those cheap floats just fine.

Just as many folks get seasons out of those reels before they ever see a crack.
