The retired tech at a garage sale in Boise handed me back my own business card and asked a question I still think about
I fixed his old Gateway tower at a garage sale on Orchard Street about 3 years ago, charged him nothing since it was just a loose RAM stick, and forgot all about it. He showed up at my bench months later, pulled my card out of his wallet, and asked if I check the simple stuff first on every job or just got lucky that day. I admitted I skip it more than I should when I'm busy, and now I keep a sticky note that says "check the simple stuff" on my monitor. How do you all keep yourselves from jumping to the hard fix when a job comes in?
