Remember when we used to just blow on the cartridge?
I was cleaning out my old workbench and found a can of compressed air from like 2010... it got me thinking. Back in the day, my whole cleaning process for a dusty desktop was just that can and maybe a rag. I'd blast it out in the customer's driveway and call it good. Then about five years ago, I invested in a proper electric air duster, the Metro Vac ED500. The difference is crazy. The electric one has way more power, doesn't freeze up, and actually gets the deep dust out of heatsinks and power supplies. I used to have so many computers come back with overheating issues a month later. With the real duster, that pretty much stopped. It felt like a silly purchase at the time, but it changed my whole routine. What's one old habit or tool you finally upgraded that made a real difference in your work?

Oh man, the can of compressed air. I finally gave up on those things after I sprayed one upside down by accident and got that freezing liquid all over my hand. Hurt like crazy and scared me half to death. Upgrading to a real electric duster was like going from a squirt gun to a fire hose. I can't believe I used to waste so much money on those little cans that died halfway through one cleaning.

That Metro Vac model seems popular with techs. Did you ever try the cheaper battery powered ones first, or did you go straight for the plug in kind?
