Rant: I used to build custom PCs with zip ties like everyone else, now I only use velcro straps
Spent years doing the zip tie thing on cable management for clients. Then about 2 years ago I had a call back on a build because a zip tie snapped under a GPU and it sagged bad. Switched to velcro straps after that one frustrating Saturday fix. Anyone else ditch zip ties once they realized how easy velcro is to adjust?

My first custom build back in 2003 I used those metal twist ties that came with bread bags because I was broke and didn't know any better. But honestly, the real reason I ditched zip ties wasn't just the snapping issue. It was the fact that every time I needed to swap a drive or reroute a cable, I had to cut the damn things off with a pair of snips. Velcro straps let you just undo and redo them in seconds, which matters a lot when you're the one who has to service that PC down the line.

Honestly, the bread tie move is genius though, I once used old shoelaces in a pinch.
