PSA: That free firmware update bricked 3 of my client rigs last week

A buddy in the trade told me to flash the new BIOS from the board maker's site without checking the forums first. I did it on 3 machines I was servicing in Round Rock, and all 3 wouldn't POST after. Had to pull CMOS batteries and roll back with a USB stick, took half a day. Anyone else run into this release or did I just get three bad units in a row?
