I was cleaning a dusty old Optiplex for a client and realized I've been using the wrong air pressure this whole time.

Yikes.
That's a good way to kill a board. Static is the real killer, not the dust. @thomas83 is lucky his 3020 survived 40 psi, that's asking for trouble. You want just enough air to move the dust, not blast it deeper into the heatsinks. I keep my compressor dialed way back for anything older than five years.

Saw a tech article that said you should keep it under 30 psi for older electronics. They mentioned static buildup from too much pressure can actually kill components. The sweet spot is apparently like 20-25 psi from a few inches away.
