A client in Fresno told me my cable management looked like a 'plate of angry spaghetti'

I started using Velcro ties and a label maker for every single wire after that, and now my workstations look clean enough to eat off of. Anyone else get a comment that made you totally change a basic habit?

Oh man, that "angry spaghetti" line would have stuck with me too. It's funny how one offhand comment from a client can just flip a switch in your brain. I had a similar thing happen where someone called my old filing system "organized chaos," and I spent a whole weekend setting up color-coded folders. Actually, the real game changer for me was planning the cable runs before tying anything down. The Velcro and labels just lock in the system. I used to just gather wires and tie them, which still left a bulky mess. Now I measure the exact path from the outlet to the desk, and it makes everything lay flat and neat.
