Wait, the insurance actually denied the claim over a dead outlet? That seems wild to me. I mean, a code violation is a code violation, and your inspector missed it, so how is that the tenant's fault? I would have fought that denial hard, because $14K in spoiled flowers is a lot of money for a small shop to eat.
