Got told my lease abstract format was 'unreadable' by a senior broker in Chicago
I used to cram every single detail into one big block of text thinking it saved time. Then a 20-year veteran at my firm pulled me aside after a deal review and said nobody on their team could find the renewal option or the ROFR clause without reading the whole thing twice. He showed me how he uses a simple bullet point layout with bold headers for each major clause like rent bumps, termination rights, and exclusivity provisions. Now I spend maybe 10 extra minutes per abstract but save everyone an hour of hunting through paragraphs. Has anyone else gotten similar feedback on formatting or do most people still prefer the old narrative style?

Nobody could find the renewal option" - maybe they just need better reading skills? I'd rather have all the info in one place than flip through bullet points like a grocery list.

Is the real issue maybe that they deliberately buried the renewal option to stop people from canceling easily? Ive noticed a lot of sites and apps do this now - they make the cancel path super hidden but the upgrade path is right in your face. Its almost like they want you to give up and just keep paying.
