Am I the only one who got burned by a 'standard' lease clause in a Phoenix strip mall?

The landlord hit me with a $15,000 bill for roof repairs after a storm, which the lease said was my problem. Anyone else have a story about a hidden cost clause they missed?

That's brutal, man. Those triple net leases are a total trap if you don't read every line. They make you pay for everything, even the building itself. My buddy got stuck repaving the parking lot at his place. You really need a lawyer to look it over before you sign anything. It's crazy what they can hide in the fine print.

Actually, triple net leases don't usually make you pay for the building itself, that's more like a ground lease. But yeah, the fine print on maintenance stuff is wild.
