Why does nobody talk about how one bad hose clamp ruined an entire week of diving
Lost a $4,000 dive job in Port Arthur after a cheap clamp blew on my umbilicus during a 40 foot inspection and my surface guy caught it on the comms before I even felt the pressure drop, which finally convinced me to switch to double clamps on every hose no matter how rushed the morning is.
Been running single clamps for 12 years on my gear and never had one blow, so a bad clamp costing you a whole week feels like the hose itself might have been the real problem. A 4k job going down over one clamp still stings though, no question about that.
