Was totally against using a drysuit for warm water work until last month

I always figured drysuits were only for cold crap and figured I'd just sweat to death in the Gulf, but my dive buddy talked me into trying one on a 3 week job out of Venice, Louisiana. The first time I got out after a 4 hour shift and wasn't soaking wet and cold from the wind, I was sold. Anyone else switch over and find it's actually way more comfortable than they thought?

Ugh seriously? I feel like people act like a little wind and dampness is the end of the world lol. I've been doing this for years and always just wore a rash guard and shorts under my wetsuit and was fine. Drysuit just sounds like so much extra work to get in and out of and I bet you still end up soaking wet from sweat inside anyway. Plus the price tag on a decent one is insane for something you'd only use a few times a year down here. I'm not convinced it's that big of a game changer for warm water, you know?

YES, 100% agree with you! I swapped to a drysuit once and honestly it was just a whole extra workout getting in and out of the thing, not to mention the swampy sweat feeling after twenty minutes. For the handful of chilly days we get here, a decent rash guard and a thicker wetsuit top has always done the trick for me too.
