That time a crab decided my wetsuit was its new home during a dive in Galveston last month

I was doing a routine inspection on a jetty down in Galveston last month, maybe 30 feet down. Came up to swap out a tool and felt something weird scratching my leg. Turned out a blue crab had crawled up inside my wetsuit leg and was just chilling there. My tender was laughing so hard he nearly dropped the comms line. Has anyone else had random sea life decide to hitch a ride on them mid-job?

Blue crab tax. Little dude saw a nice warm cave and went for it.

Blue crab tax" is right, but they also charge rent in panic if you don't notice them quick enough. I've had a spider crab try to set up shop in my hood once, totally feel your pain. A good trick is to do a quick leg shake before you surface, especially if you're near rocks or jetty structure. Also, check your wetsuit seams before you splash in, crabs love those little gaps. Lucky for you it was just a blue crab and not a stone crab with those claws, that would've been a whole different story.
