Talked to a retired saturation diver at the marina in Seattle
He said the biggest change he saw in his 30 years wasn't the gear, but how divers talk about the mental side of the job. He told me, 'We used to just call it being tired. Now you kids have a word for it, and that's good.' He meant burnout, I think. It hit different because I just finished a long inland job where I felt exactly that, but didn't want to say anything. Made me wonder if we're getting better at this or just naming the same old problems. How many of you have a good team lead you can actually talk to about that stuff?

My last lead in Texas just saw it as complaining. Honestly, giving it a fancy name just lets companies check a box without fixing the real work problems. We had all the mental health talk but the schedule was still brutal.
