Spent $400 on a Kirby Morgan band mask and it was a mistake

Everybody hypes them up like the holy grail. I caved and bought one last season. Thing fogged up on me every single dive in cold water. My old $150 Ocean Reef never did that. Spent another $60 on anti-fog sprays and wipes trying to fix it. Still a hassle. Anyone else regret dropping big money on a band mask?

oh man, i feel this so hard. i bought into the hype too and ended up with a mask i couldn't stand. it wasn't the kirby morgan model but a different expensive one that everyone swore by, and it fogged up worse than my cheap old cressi. i spent way too much time and money on defoggers and toothpaste tricks and it never helped. you expect something that costs that much to just work, you know? it's such a letdown when the simpler, cheaper gear actually does the job better. makes you wonder if the whole "high end" thing is just a status symbol for a lot of people.
