My dive partner told me to always carry a backup cutting tool, and I brushed it off
He said he lost his primary knife on a job in the Gulf and had to cut a fouled line with a backup. I finally listened after getting my own line tangled near a piling in Mobile Bay last month. My main cutter jammed, and the spare saved me a real bad time. How many of you actually carry a second cutting tool on every dive?

My uncle still dives with the same rusty dive knife from the 80s.

Carried two shears after a close call in murky water. The backup got me out of some fishing line when my main knife wouldn't cut. What do you use for a backup?
