Just realized I've done over 200 dives this year and never counted before
I was going through my logbook last night getting paperwork ready for a client and I added up all my dives since January. Came out to 207 so far. That blew my mind because I never really kept a running total. I just show up, do the job, and go home. Most of those are inland bridge and dam inspections in Ohio, with some harbor work mixed in. A bunch of them were shallow ten foot dives for trash screen clearing but they still count. Made me wonder if other guys track their numbers or just let it pile up like I did.

My first year as a tender I would have sworn I did around 80 dives. Then I actually counted and it was 167. I guess losing track is easy when half of them are just "go down, clear the screen, come back up, rinse, repeat." 207 is a solid number though. I'd say the fact that you didn't realize it just means you were too busy actually working to care about the count. Which honestly is better than the guys who post a count on social media before they've even dried off.

Respectfully, I gotta disagree a little bit on that one. I think keeping a rough count helps me stay honest about how much work I'm actually doing, especially when the days all blur together. Plus, when you're posting numbers like that, it's not always about showing off... sometimes it's just a way to share the grind with other people who get it. But I do see your point about the social media guys who are still dripping wet, that part's pretty annoying.
