Hit 300 dives in the Gulf last Tuesday and the number messed with my head more than the depth ever did
Sat on the deck doing paperwork after a shallow 40 footer and it hit me that 300 of those little jobs added up to more bottom time than all the deep stuff I brag about. Anyone else find the boring numbers freaky, or is it just me counting too much on slow days?
Ever count something dumb like how many times you've tied your boots? I did that with air fills once. Started logging every tank I ever got and the total was over 2,000. That number felt way bigger than any single dive I could remember. Same thing with bottom time, the small shallow stuff stacks up fast. You don't notice it until you add it all up and then it kinda sits on your chest.
