Can we talk about my old hatred for comms helmets?

I thought they were just extra weight and a hassle for simple jobs. Then I spent twenty minutes trying to hand-signal through zero vis silt. Now I won't touch a job without one, even if the audio crackles. It turns out talking beats charades every time.

Honestly I was just reading about how people double down on bad opinions until they see the results up close. There was this whole thing about how showing someone actual proof works better than arguing. Tbh if you never see the real effects of something, you can believe whatever you want.

Ever notice how some folks won't budge until they're face to face with the consequences? @dylan976 is right, that'll shake your beliefs fast. I remember arguing that public transit was fine until I had to use it daily and saw how broken it was. My whole attitude shifted after dealing with the delays and crowds. Now I get why people complain so much.
