Trade paperbacks vs single issues, collecting back issues ruined me

I got back into comics about 2 years ago and went hard on single issues at first. There's something about the floppy, the ads, the letter column, all that. But after 6 months I had a pile of longboxes that were a mess to keep organized and I almost missed an entire story arc because issue 4 of a miniseries just never hit my shop. Started grabbing trade paperbacks instead and honestly the difference is night and day. A trade reads like the creators meant it, no cliffhanger cut off every 20 pages, no fear of missing a fill-in issue. Plus I can read through a whole arc in one sitting on a Sunday afternoon. My collection went from 120 loose issues to maybe 8 trades and I actually feel like I own the story instead of just pieces of it. Anyone else make the switch and never look back, or do you still chase that Wednesday release high?
