TIL the difference between a 90s comic fan and a modern one is wild

I swear back in 1993 my local shop was all guys arguing over who could pull a full run of McFarlane's Spawn the fastest, but last month I saw a kid spend 20 minutes debating the symbolism in a single panel of Saga, so what changed more, the fans or the books themselves?

Yeah exactly! I once watched two guys almost fight over a misprinted X-Men cover.

Keep your hands off the table if you see someone getting heated, store management hates calling security over a book. Grab the issue yourself and ask the clerk to check the price or condition on their scanner, that usually breaks the tension. Once they see you're just a normal customer trying to buy something, they cool down fast.
