Spent $400 on a custom frame for a single issue and I don't even care

It's for a signed copy of Ultimate Fallout #4, and seeing it on my wall makes me smile every day. Anyone else ever splurge on a single piece like that?

Totally get it. I read a piece once about how the right display can turn a collectible into pure joy.

Yeah, "pure joy" is the perfect way to put it, like taylor_garcia said. If it makes you smile every day, that's worth way more than the price tag lol.

You know what nobody's brought up yet is how the lighting in your room affects it. I have this old Star Wars figure from 1978 on my desk and depending on the time of day the sun hits it just right and it glows different colors through the plastic. That's the kind of thing you don't think about when you buy stuff but it adds so much to the joy over years. Like your brain starts associating that little corner of your space with good feelings because every day at 4pm that thing catches your eye and makes you pause. So it's not just the object itself but how it works with your actual life and your actual room that makes it priceless basically.
