Spent 4 hours trying to organize my long boxes by publisher and gave up

I was sorting my collection last Saturday and got stuck on what to do with all the Image comics from the 90s. Figured I'd separate Marvel, DC, and everything else but my 1992 Spawn run took forever to find a spot. Ended up just alphabetizing everything after 3 hours and calling it done. Has anyone else wasted a whole afternoon on a system that totally backfired?

Oh man, I feel your pain on the "gave up" part. I spent a solid 4 hours trying to sort by publisher alphabetical order and ended up just shoving everything back in the boxes by rough size. It's like the more you try to organize the more of a mess it becomes, I swear.

Try sorting by the year you bought them instead. That's what I started doing after my third failed attempt at alphabetical. It takes the pressure off because you're just going by memory and vibes instead of some strict system. Plus it's kinda cool to see how your taste has changed over the years when you pull out that stack from 2019 and realize you used to be REALLY into that weird britpop phase.
