Serious question, why does everyone say Watchmen is the best comic ever? It took me 3 weeks to get through it.
I finally read Watchmen last month because every single person in my local shop in Portland kept saying it was the peak of the form. It took me almost 3 weeks to finish it because I kept putting it down, and I blame the middle chapters where the story just drags with the pirate comic stuff. I get the craft and the layers, but I would rather reread a Batman book like Long Halloween any day. Am I missing something, or is this one of those books people praise because they feel like they have to? I want to know why it clicked for you if it did.
