Overheard a dude at my LCS say he's been reading the same issue of X-Men #1 for 2 months

Used to think that was kinda weird honestly. Like just read the thing and move on. But after getting back into comics a few years back I get it now. Sometimes you pick up an issue and the art is just so detailed you wanna sit with it for a while. Plus with how expensive books are now it makes sense to really soak in what you paid for. Not saying I'd take two months but I get the mindset now.

Isn't that kind of refreshing in a way? I mean, we live in this world where everything has to be consumed so fast, like we're just checking things off a list. Reading a comic for two months sounds to me like someone really connecting with the story and the art, letting it sink in. I can respect that a lot, especially since these books cost a pretty penny now. Plus, there's so much happening in a single issue sometimes that you miss half of it if you just flip through. Good on him for taking his time with it, honestly.

Man, I heard a podcast where a guy said he spent 6 months trying to decide which variant of a comic to buy. Different levels of dedication I guess.
