Our local shop's vibe changed hard in the last year
I've been going to Comics Plus on Main for over a decade. It used to be a chill spot to hang and talk books. Now it feels like a stock market floor. The shift started about 8 months ago. The owner, Dave, put up a huge screen tracking key issue prices in real time. Suddenly half the regulars just talk about FMV and flipping books on eBay. I heard a guy last week tell his kid, 'Don't touch that, it's a 9.8 candidate.' The focus is totally on investment, not the stories. It's sad. Has anyone else's shop gone full speculator mode?

Remember when my friend just wanted to buy a cool cover, not a stock tip?

Wait, did your friend actually find out later they were buying something that happened to be tied to some weird stock thing, or was it just a regular case that someone online tried to turn into a joke? I'm trying to picture the scene - they just wanted a cool cover for their phone or whatever, and then BAM, some forum troll starts yelling about market tips? Or was there actually a real connection between the cover and a company's stock price? Cause that would be way too weird.

Actually janaf76, it was a cool case not a cover. The stock tip thing was a whole other mess.
